Empowering Newcomers on the Path to Citizenship
CitizenTest Canada is an independent educational platform created in Toronto, Ontario. Our mission is to help permanent residents prepare for, understand, and confidently pass the official Canadian Citizenship Exam.
Our Mission & Purpose
Becoming a Canadian citizen is a deeply meaningful milestone. However, studying hundreds of historical facts, constitutional principles, electoral processes, and geographical regions can feel overwhelming—especially for candidates balancing jobs, families, and language learning.
Many commercial study platforms lock sample tests behind expensive subscription fees. We believe quality civic education should be open to all. CitizenTest Canada was founded to provide completely free, beautifully designed, and gamified practice exams alongside structured study notes.
Our Core Principles
Discover Canada Alignment
Every practice question and study guide is cross-referenced with the official Discover Canada booklet published by IRCC.
Up-to-Date Editorial Vetting
Our curriculum is reviewed to reflect recent changes, including constitutional references to His Majesty King Charles III.
Realistic Test Simulations
Practice with timed exams that mirror the exact 45-minute, 20-question, 75% pass mark requirement of the official test.
Detailed Explanations
We explain why the correct answer is right and why alternatives are wrong, ensuring you master underlying concepts.
100% Free Educational Access
We believe preparation materials should be accessible to every aspiring citizen without expensive paywalls or barriers.
Community-Driven Accuracy
New questions and user feedback are continually analyzed to catch typos and keep questions clear and accessible.
Editorial Standards & Fact-Checking
Accuracy is our highest priority. All questions, options, and explanations on this website are based exclusively on the official Government of Canada study guide: Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship, published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
How We Maintain Accuracy:
- Monarchy & Constitutional Updates: All references to the Canadian Crown reflect His Majesty King Charles III, the Sovereign of Canada, following the accession in September 2022.
- Regular Review Cycles: We regularly review question sets against current ministerial appointments, provincial leadership, and official IRCC test formats.
- Candidate Feedback: Users can flag confusing questions or suspected errors via our Contact page. Our team reviews every report within 48 business hours.
